สำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมวิทยาศาสตร์ วิจัยและนวัตกรรม (สกสว.) ร่วมกับ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตอังกฤษประจำประเทศไทย กรมอุตุนิยมวิทยา และ สำนักงานการวิจัยแห่งชาติ (วช.) มีกำหนดจัดงานประชุมวิชาการ “Thailand Weather and Climate Symposium ครั้งที่ 1 ปี 2564” โดยจะจัดขึ้นใน ระหว่างวันที่ 16-17 ธันวาคม 2564 เพื่อนำเสนอผลงานวิจัย ด้านความเปลี่ยนแปลงของสภาพภูมิอากาศ และผลกระทบต่อสภาพอากาศ และเหตุการณ์สภาพภูมิอากาศสุดขั้ว และเพื่อจัดแสดงนกระบวนการเชิงวัตกรรมที่จะสามารถช่วยวิเคราะห์เหตุการณ์สภาพภูมิอากาศสุดขั้วได้ดียิ่งขึ้น

กำหนดการภายในงานนี้

• วันที่ 16 ธันวาคม 2564 งานประชุมจะเน้นการนำเสนอผลงานวิจัยในลักษณะโปสเตอร์ โดยผลงานวิจัยที่ชนะการประกวดคัดเลือก และผลงานที่ชนะการประกวดเหล่านี้ จะได้ส่งบทความวิชาการ เพื่อตีพิมพ์ใน ASEAN Specialised Meteorological Centre Bulletin Issue #9 เดือนมีนาคม 2565
• วันที่ 17 ธันวาคม 2564 ผู้เชี่ยวชาญจาก Met Office หน่วยงานด้านอุตุนิยมวิทยาของสหราชอาณาจักร จะมาร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนประสบการณ์และงานวิจัยเกี่ยวกับความเปลี่ยนแปลงของภูมิอากาศและผลต่อสภาพอากาศและเหตุการณ์สภาพภูมิอากาศสุดขั้ว

ในการนี้ สกสว. จึงขอเชิญชวนนักวิจัย ให้ส่งผลงานวิจัย ด้านสภาพอากาศและเหตุการณ์สภาพภูมิอากาศสุดขั้ว (Weather and Climate Extreme Events) เพื่อนำเสนอในรูปแบบโปสเตอร์ภายในงานดังกล่าว โดยมีกำหนดส่งฉบับร่าง ภายในวันที่ 30 ตุลาคม 2564 และกำหนดส่งฉบับสมบูรณ์ ภายในวันที่ 15 พฤศจิกายน 2564 โดยท่านสามารถดูข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมและดาวน์โหลดเอกสารที่เกี่ยวข้องทั้งหมดได้ที่ https://bit.ly/3AYc1MA

Announcement

The goal of Waether and Climate Symposium 2021 is to conduct the weather and climate research community to academic institutions and government agencies, uncover weather and climate research in nation level and build up the atmosphere for young scientists. In term of Climate science, it is not only to share innovative techniques for better data analyses and utilization of climate information but also to exchange scientific knowledge on agricultural, water resource, environmental, and disaster risk responses to weather and climate extremes

The two-day conference consists of poster and oral presentation and invited experts from UK Met Office (UKMO) will give a special talk and discuss in the current weather & climate extreme events. The 1st Thailand Weather and Climate Symposium 2021 will be held online on December 16-17th, 2021 co-host by the British Embassy Bangkok, Thai Meteorogical Department (TMD), Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI), and National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT)

Conference Topics

The weather and climate extreme events and its impacts under climate change which have endangered lives or had a detrimental social or economic impact. The topics will be drought, severe flooding, heatwaves, and strong winds events. It is relevant to large-scale systems such as El Nino event, monsoon system, tropical cyclones, or smaller convective events.

Publication

The poster's winner will be asked to prepare article submitting for ASEAN Specialized Meteorological Centre (ASMC) Bulletin Issue#9 in March 2022.
